Breathing in, I calm body and mind. Breathing out, I smile. Dwelling in the present moment I know this is the only moment.’
Thich Nhat Hanh

Background
Sam has been practicing yoga since 2012, primarily with two inspirational teachers Diana Brook & Joanne Gardener. With a background in research & education as a Reader in the School of Medicine at Cardiff University, Sam is a trained educator with over 20 years experience, including facilitation & being a restorative practitioner. Building on this foundation she took the step into yoga teacher training (YTT), hoping to share the practice & huge benefits of yoga with others.
Personal Journey
Sam was diagnosed with bipolar at 27 & has managed their mental health since with a combination of mood stabilisers & a healthy balanced lifestyle. Yoga has been a constant that nourished the mind & body & supported her to overcome possible triggers & maintain balance in both mental & physical health. This underpins Sam’s teaching style with a focus on connecting mind, body & breath & the complimentary elements of yin & yang.
Teacher Training
In 2020, she undertook an ashtanga modified primary series course (with Jamie Yoga Trainings) & an online 200hr & 300hr YTT course (with My Vinyasa Practice), including yin, restorative & vinyasa flows.
Sam has completed both the 500hrs YTT with My Vinyasa Practice & the 200hrs YTT with Jamie Yoga Trainings & is qualified, registered & insured to teach yoga, guiding classes to help benefit both the mind & body. The sessions aim to relax, unwind, strengthen & promote flexibility.
